Job summary

Baptist Health in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Coding Specialist, Physician Coding to join the Physician Billing Office team. This full-time day shift role focuses on accurate ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding for physician services across places of service, with emphasis on E/M coding.

Requires physician coding experience and CPC or equivalent certification; remote work is available in approved states. Knowledge of coding guidelines and regulatory requirements is essential.

Qualifications

• Physician coding experience — Required
• Experience with E/M coding, outpatient procedures, and minor office procedures — Preferred
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding for diverse physician services
• Understanding of coding guidelines and state/federal regulatory requirements
• CPC or equivalent certification required; specialty certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and accurately assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT-4 codes.
• Apply evaluation and management (E/M) codes across applicable places of service.
• Code minor office procedures, specialty-specific testing and procedures, and minor surgeries.
• Follow established coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure coding accuracy to support appropriate physician billing and reimbursement.
• Identify discrepancies and documentation issues and address them per procedures.
