Qualifications

• Physician coding experience — Required
• Experience with E/M coding, outpatient procedures, and minor office procedures — Preferred
• Specialty-specific coding experience — Preferred
• High School Diploma — Required
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent certification — Required
• Specialty-specific coding certification — Preferred

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT-4 procedure codes
• Apply evaluation and management (E/M) codes across applicable places of service
• Code minor office procedures, specialty-specific testing and procedures, and minor surgeries
• Follow established coding guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance to support physician billing and reimbursement
• Identify coding discrepancies and documentation issues
