Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or equivalent.
• 5 years current ambulatory physician-based coding experience.
• Must be certified coder through AAPC or AHIMA in active status.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Interpret clinical documentation and align it with billing codes for accuracy and compliant reimbursement.
• Audit medical records to ensure coding correctness and identify improvement opportunities.
• Provide guidance and education on coding policies and CMS/NCCI guidelines.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to resolve documentation and coding gaps.
