Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Physician Coder Quality Associate to interpret clinical documentation and ensure accurate ambulatory coding. This fully remote role supports denials resolution, trend analysis, and coaching of coders to improve documentation and billing accuracy.

The position requires 5 years of ambulatory physician-based coding, a Bachelor’s in HIMS or equivalent, and active certification (CCS/CPC or AHIMA/AAPC).

Qualifications

• 5 years current experience in Ambulatory Physician-based coding.
• Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or equivalent.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or similar.

Responsibilities

• Interpret clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding for ambulatory services.
• Audit documentation for proper reimbursement and coding compliance.
• Identify opportunities to improve documentation and billing accuracy.
• Provide guidance to physicians and staff on coding rules and guidelines.
