Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Physician Coder III to accurately abstract data per ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS guidelines across the HM Health network. You will enter required information into the electronic medical record and query physicians when needed.

This is a remote position with opportunities to work from home while supporting a large health system committed to quality care, equity, and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of coding experience in Trauma Level 1 and Academic Teaching facility.
• Proficient in office/outpatient coding with knowledge of E/M guidelines.
• Strong understanding of physiology, medical terms and anatomy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Abstract data following ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS guidelines for Coding and CMS directives across Hackensack Meridian Health network.
• Perform data entry of required abstracted patient information into the electronic medical record system.
• Query physicians when appropriate.
