Actalent is seeking a Remote Pharmacy Technician – Prior Authorization Review to join our health insurance pharmacy services team. The role focuses on reviewing prior authorization requests, determining coverage, and routing decisions to pharmacists for final review, with minimal phone work and long-term growth potential in a remote setting.

The ideal candidate will hold a high school diploma or GED, current state registration as a pharmacy technician, and national certification, plus experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pharmacy tech registration.
• National certification (PTCB/NHA) and active CPhT where required.
• Experience with PBM processes and multiple computer systems.
• Strong data entry, communication, and remote-work capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Review prior authorization requests for coverage determinations.
• Evaluate requests against criteria and route to pharmacists.
• Enter decisions into PBM and internal systems.
• Communicate coverage decisions to providers and members.
• Collaborate with pharmacists and teams to apply criteria consistently.
• Handle Medicare/Medicaid prescription benefit inquiries as needed.
