Job summary

Actalent seeks a Pharmacy Technician to manage coverage determinations for Medicare Part D prior authorizations in a remote capacity. You will triage requests, gather clinical information, and ensure timely documentation of outcomes for providers and members.

Essential skills include 1+ year pharmacy experience, active Pharmacy Technician license, and ability to handle high-volume PBM workflows with clear communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year+ experience in retail, hospital or mail order pharmacy.
• Active state Pharmacy Technician license is required.
• Experience with prior authorization/coverage determination processes.

Responsibilities

• Track and triage coverage determination requests for prior authorizations.
• Review requests and determine when pharmacist review is required.
• Obtain authorizations and clinical information from prescribers.
• Approve requests based on defined criteria and guidelines.
• Document decisions accurately in PBM system.
• Notify providers and members of decisions promptly.
• Respond to client inquiries about authorization approvals.
