Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a Remote role supporting Austin, TX, within Ascension Pharmacy Services. You will perform specialized duties including hazardous drug compounding, medication history, nuclear, and PAP, and you will refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.

You will liaise between pharmacy, patients and health professionals, assist with benefit investigations and prior authorizations, support immunization efforts where allowed, and help ensure inventory

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician licensure/certification from NHA or PTCB obtained prior to hire
• High School diploma or equivalent or 1 year of related experience
• Preferred: PAP, Grant and Foundation experience (1+ year)
• State licensure in the supported state

Responsibilities

• Performs hazardous drug compounding, medication history, nuclear procedures and PAP
• Refills and maintains automated dispensing system; prepares orders; maintains inventory; stores supplies
• Acts as liaison between pharmacy, patient and health professionals; communicates with external resources
• Assists with patient medication access including benefit investigation and prior authorization
• Assists pharmacist in preparing patient education materials
• May immunize per state laws; may serve as pharmacist extender; monitors regulatory standards and drug shortages
