Job summary

Mountain Family Health Centers in Glenwood Springs, CO, is seeking a PRN Prior Authorization Assistant to coordinate timely approvals for high-cost medications for privately insured patients. You will manage the admin prior authorization process from verification through submission, follow-up, and denial resolution.

Responsibilities include educating providers and nursing staff, cross-training for coverage, and applying guideline algorithms within scope.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a medical office, pharmacy, prior authorization, medication access, insurance verification, revenue cycle, or comparable healthcare support role.
• Current pharmacy technician certification or registration, if applicable to assigned duties and jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely approval of high-cost brand-name medications for privately insured patients from benefit verification through submission, follow-up, denial resolution, and communication of outcomes.
• Educate providers and nursing staff on documentation and workflow practices to expedite payer decisions.
• Provide coverage for medication refill Assistants during prolonged absences or turnover and apply the organization’s medication refill guideline algorithm within the assistant's scope.
• Remote work as approved, with required remote work setup and availability during established business hours.
