Job summary

BCBST BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Specialist to support the Senior Care Outreach and Retention team. You will help members navigate their prescriptions, benefits, and resources while delivering compassionate, member-centered service.

The role combines inbound and outbound calls, focusing on medication adherence and education, with documentation and collaboration across internal teams. A CPhT and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of experience in a retail pharmacy or comparable customer service environment.
• 1 year of experience in a pharmacy setting with knowledge of medical terminology.
• 1 year of technical or operational experience preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or NHA) required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and maintaining pharmacy information disseminated to customers.
• Conducting outbound educational calls regarding medication adherence.
• Motivating members to refill prescriptions and coordinate communication with providers/pharmacies.
• Handle customer service inquiries and problems via telephone.
