Qualifications
- Active pharmacist license in at least one US state.
- PharmD or BS in Pharmacy.
- Experience performing prior authorization reviews in pharmacy or clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations, including DEA and FDA requirements.
- Proficiency in pharmacy data entry and maintaining accurate medication and controlled substance records.
- Ability to supervise and review the work of pharmacy support personnel.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform final prior authorization reviews with high accuracy and clinical detail.
- Comply with state and federal drug laws and regulations (State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA).
- Monitor nursing unit inspections and ensure medication storage/handling standards.
- Maintain complete records for controlled substances per regulatory requirements.
- Identify, remove, and document outdated or damaged medications from inventory.
- Supervise and review work of pharmacy support personnel for quality and compliance.
- Maintain current pharmacist registration and licensure in good standing.
- Stay informed about legislation and regulatory changes impacting pharmacy.
- Advise leadership on actions and policy updates.
- Support MTM activities for optimal patient outcomes.
- Data entry for prior authorizations, prescriptions, and records.
- Collaborate effectively in a remote setting with established workflows.
