Job summary

BrightSpring Health Services is seeking a Pharmacist Consultant for a remote role covering specified territories in the United States. The position emphasizes medication optimization, collaboration with care teams, and regulatory compliance for long-term care facilities.

Responsibilities include reviewing orders, monitoring residents, documenting communications, and staying current with state and federal LTC requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD; current license required.
• One-year experience in acute, long-term care or home health preferred.
• IV clinical experience preferred.
• Must be able to work weekends or outside of normal business hours when needed.
• Ability to lift patient charts repetitively and stand for long periods.
• Good customer service skills.
• Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.
• Understanding of formulary management.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates physician medication orders for drug appropriateness, dosage, interactions, route and stability; recommends therapy changes to physicians and staff.
• Reviews residents’ drug regimens and clinical indicators monthly and reports findings with recommendations.
• Documents all communication with physicians, nurses, and patients/residents.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy laws and long-term care regulations.
• Works cooperatively as a member of the healthcare team.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmaceutical care practices for long-term care residents.
