Job summary

PharMerica, a closed‑door pharmacy and part of BrightSpring Health Services, seeks a Pharmacist Consultant for a remote role covering Worcester, MA and surrounding territories. Qualified candidates must reside within the listed regions and hold an Immunization Certification.

You will evaluate orders, review regimens monthly, document communications with physicians and staff, and maintain knowledge of long-term care regulations.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills and communication abilities.
• Ability to learn and interpret state and federal long-term care regulations.
• Wamiliarity with formulary management and clinical decision making.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and administration route; makes recommendations to physicians and facility staff.
• Reviews the drug regimen and clinical indicators for each resident at least monthly; reports irregularities with written recommendations.
• Documents all communications with physicians, nurses, other healthcare team members, and residents/families.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmacy laws and federal/state regulations concerning long-term care.
• Works cooperatively as a team member to optimize patient care.
• Maintains knowledge of pharmaceutical care practices for long-term care residents.
