Job summary

Rutter Mills LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support trial attorneys in personal injury cases. This fully remote role requires coordinating with clients, attorneys, and medical providers throughout litigation, settlement, and trial phases.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in Virginia personal injury litigation, strong organizational skills, and comfort working digitally with a busy caseload. Remote, full-time schedule, with competitive hourly compensation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of personal injury litigation experience
• Strong knowledge of Virginia court rules, civil procedure, and e-filing systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage caseloads independently in a remote setting
• Experience drafting legal documents and handling case files

Responsibilities

• Draft, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses.
• Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines, including statutes of limitations.
• Review medical records and billing, manage liens, and negotiate lien reductions.
• Coordinate depositions, mediations, settlements, and related case documentation.
• Support trial preparation, exhibits, witness coordination, and courtroom logistics.
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
• Ensure compliance with Virginia court rules and e-filing requirements.
