Rutter Mills LLP in Hampton, VA is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support trial attorneys through all stages of litigation, from filing to trial. You will work with attorneys, clients, and medical providers to move cases efficiently and meet Virginia procedural requirements.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Virginia personal injury litigation experience.
• Knowledge of Virginia court rules, civil procedure, and e-filing.
• Ability to manage caseloads with accuracy and organization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience drafting legal documents and handling medical liens.
• Proficiency with case management systems, SmartAdvocate preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilités

• Draft, file pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responses.
• Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines, including statutes of limitations.
• Review medical records, billing documentation, and lien information; negotiate lien reductions.
• Coordinate depositions, mediations, and settlement packages.
• Support trial preparation with exhibits, witnesses, and logistics.
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
• Ensure compliance with Virginia court rules and e-filing requirements.
