Job summary

Briefcase Legal Support, LLC is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support our personal injury practice on a remote, independent contractor basis. The role covers discovery, court filings, deadline management, deposition coordination, and trial preparation, with emphasis on pre-litigation work and case progression.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple files while maintaining accurate documentation and professional client service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working for a U.S.-based personal injury law firm.
• Hands-on litigation experience supporting personal injury attorneys.
• Pre-litigation personal injury experience, including familiarity with medical records, medical bills, insurance claims, settlement demands, and case development.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software.
• Ability to work remotely and coordinate with a U.S.-based team.
• Strong communication, organization, and deadline management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with managing personal injury cases through the litigation process.
• Prepare, draft, and organize pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and legal correspondence.
• Coordinate discovery activities, track responses, organize supporting documentation, and follow up on outstanding materials.
• Monitor and calendar court deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial dates.
• Assist with court filings and ensure documents are prepared and submitted within deadlines.
• Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, and other litigation-related activities.
• Organize evidence, medical records, discovery materials, exhibits, and witness lists.
• Assist with trial preparation, including organizing trial exhibits and witness information.
• Maintain accurate and organized electronic case files.
