Job summary

The AES Corporation is seeking a Permitting Project Manager to drive permitting and environmental development activities for energy projects across MISO, SPP, and ERCOT. The role spans early-stage site screening to permit acquisition, construction handoff, and ongoing execution support.

The ideal candidate will connect permitting decisions to project schedules, costs, and risk management, working with development, engineering, and regulatory teams to deliver complex energy infrastructure

Qualifications

• Typically 4–8 years of progressively responsible experience in permitting and environmental planning.
• Experience with state and federal air permitting, NSR/Title V, and regulatory coordination.
• Ability to translate complex regulatory concepts into actionable development strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead permitting initiatives across MISO, SPP and ERCOT regions for energy projects.
• Oversee environmental studies, due diligence, and consultant management.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and internal teams through pre-application to permit approval.
• Develop and implement permitting strategies, schedules, and budgets aligned with project milestones.
• Manage wastewater and air permitting, including NPDES-related activities and emission inventories.
