The AES Corporation is seeking a Permitting Analyst to develop technical, regulatory, and project management expertise across AES Clean Energy and renewable energy projects. You will collaborate with Development, Environmental, Community Relations, Engineering, Construction, and Project Execution teams.

Ideal candidates have a relevant degree and about 2+ years in permitting or environmental compliance, with strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work both

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Geography, Natural Resources, Planning, Environmental Studies, or related field.
• Approximately 2+ years of experience supporting permitting, environmental compliance, environmental consulting, project development, land-use planning, natural resources, or related fields.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preliminary site evaluations, due diligence reviews, and constraint analyses for environmental, permitting, and land-use considerations.
• Support permitting efforts for wind, solar, energy storage, and other renewable energy projects across local, state, and federal jurisdictions.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to obtain, review, and organize technical studies and environmental assessments.
• Assist with the management of consultants, contractors, and vendors while tracking project schedules, deliverables, and budgets.
• Support the preparation of project documentation and compliance packages for handoff to construction and operations teams.
• Participate in meetings with community stakeholders, elected officials, regulatory agencies, and other external partners.
• Contribute to cost optimization initiatives, vendor management, and invoice review processes.
• Learn to identify project risks and support mitigation strategies under guidance of experienced team members.
• Support engagement with regulatory agencies regarding project design, permitting requirements, and mitigation measures.
• Gradually assume ownership of specific tasks as experience develops.
• Maintain project records and permit tracking tools.
