Job summary

The Washington State Department of Ecology is hiring a Permit Manager and Data Quality Specialist (Environmental Specialist 3)(In-Training) in the Water Quality Program. The role partners with facility owners to navigate the permitting process and builds database tools to organize critical information and track permit records.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience and/or education related to the duties of the position, covering permit management, inspections, enforcement docs, data management, and analysis.
• Education in environmental or natural sciences; related to the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage water quality permits.
• Provide technical assistance to facilities to improve compliance.
• Conduct inspections and respond to complaints.
• Manage the permit application acceptance process.
• Develop database tables for facilities to report discharge monitoring results.
• Draft documents for compliance and enforcement.
• Manage Environmental Incident response and reporting.
