Job summary

The Washington State Department of Ecology is hiring an Industrial Permit Data and Compliance Professional (Environmental Specialist 3) for the Water Quality Program in Lacey, WA. You will coordinate permit management across thirteen southwest counties, ensuring accurate data and timely action within PARIS and the WebPortal.

Qualifications

• Permit administration experience to issue permits and ensure compliant decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional technical support for 100+ industrial permits; troubleshoot PARIS and Water Quality WebPortal.
• Prepare permit coverages, review drafts and fact sheets for technical accuracy; ensure limit sets are compatible with PARIS.
• Review permit applications for completeness and technical accuracy; draft acceptance/rejection letters.
• Finalize and circulate documents; arrange peer, entity, and public reviews; distribute permits.
• Maintain the Industrial Unit SharePoint site used by 13 staff.
• Create new records in WebPortal and PARIS for submittals (e-DMRs).
• Enter or upload data, notifications, reports, inspections, and compliance information to PARIS.
