Job summary

Fisher Phillips is seeking a Labor & Employment litigation attorney to join as Special Counsel in our Nationwide Virtual Office. The role supports a dedicated PEO client and its customers, with a focus on Northern California.

The attorney will manage day-to-day employment matters, handle a high-volume docket, and travel for in-person proceedings in California. This non-partner-track, full-time role requires in-person advocacy, collaboration with partners, and a commitment to long-term engagement

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA‑accredited law school.
• 7+ years of employment law and litigation experience.
• Active bar membership in good standing; CA admission required.
• Experience with PEOs/Professional Employer Organizations, EPLI claims, and carrier relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume employment litigation docket from inception through resolution.
• Handle administrative charges, demand letters, pleadings, motions, depositions, hearings, and trials/arbitrations.
• Travel within Northern California for in-person proceedings and appearances.
• Supervise and mentor attorneys and legal staff; coordinate with partners and supporting teams.
