Job summary

University Health Partners of Hawai'i seeks a part-time Certified Peer Specialist to support Hawai'i clients via the Hoʻola UTelehealth program. This remote role requires Hawaii HCPS certification, strong ethics, and the ability to work with a treatment team to promote recovery and self-determination.

Responsibilities include providing peer-based support, helping develop recovery plans, facilitating groups, and coordinating referrals, with supervision by QMHP or MHP.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of direct service experience with substance use disorder or behavioral health.
• HCPS certification in Hawaii.
• WRAP facilitator certification preferred; must be obtained within six months.
• Driver's license preferred; insurable vehicle may be required.
• Current BLS/First Aid certification preferred.
• CPI certification or crisis prevention training preferred.
• Commitment to client rights and community living; ability to work with diverse populations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Promote cohesive team culture and support recovery-focused treatment planning.
• Provide support to the Hoʻola UTelehealth program and its clients.
• Assist with recovery plans, WRAP inputs, and referrals to services.
• Attend required clinical supervision with QMHP or MHP.
• Develop coping skills and crisis management strategies for consumers.
• Build daily living, communication, and community living skills.
• Facilitate peer support groups and recovery dialogues.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
