Job summary

AEC Consulting Group is seeking a Land Development Engineer with a site-civil background and 5+ years of relevant experience for a fully remote role, with residency required in South Carolina, North Carolina, or Georgia. The chosen candidate will join a Southeast-based firm delivering civil/site, water resources, roadway, and related projects.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license and strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills, with hands-on experience in land development, permitting, and project delivery.

Qualifications

• PE license required
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
• 5+ years of hands-on land-development or site-civil design experience
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with stormwater design; familiarity with HydroCAD/HEC-RAS a plus
• Familiarity with permitting workflows; GIS experience is a plus
• Exposure to project coordination or mentorship roles

Responsibilities

• Conduct site feasibility analyses (grading, drainage, access)
• Prepare conceptual layouts and preliminary cost estimates
• Develop detailed Civil 3D models and construction-ready drawings
• Perform hydrologic/hydraulic calculations per regulations
• Lead QA/QC reviews for accuracy and compliance
• Collaborate with internal disciplines and external agencies
• Support permit application submittals and follow through to approval
• Respond to RFI’s and provide site-visit support during construction phases
