Job summary

Coleman Lew Canny Bowen is seeking a senior Controller to lead Canadian accounting and financial operations from a US-based leadership position, reporting to CFO. This role travels to Greater Toronto Area monthly and manages a team across US/Canada, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and CRA requirements.

You will drive financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and system improvements, partner with executives on strategy, and help accelerate acquisitions while safeguarding assets and data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years in accounting leadership, private equity a plus.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and US/Canada cross-border reporting.
• Experience with consolidation across multi-location entities.
• ERP and consolidation systems expertise; data security focus.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee US/Canada accounting and financial operations from a US-based leadership position.
• Prepare GAAP financial statements and monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Maintain internal controls and CRA/compliance; coordinate audits.
• Supervise payroll processing and payroll tax remittance.
• Monitor cash flow and 13-week cash forecast; optimize working capital.
• Develop, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff.
• Partner with executives on strategic planning and acquisitions.
• Oversee ERP systems implementation and process improvements.
