Job summary

Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) seeks an Accessibility Remediation Technician to remediate accessibility issues in PDFs, Word, and PowerPoint files. You will work remotely with local Atlanta candidates and assist under supervision, receiving training and guidance from the project supervisor.

Ideal candidates have strong IT skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to new software tools and procedures.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of computers and office technology.
• Experience with PDF editing software (Adobe Acrobat Pro).
• Experience with document processing and records management.
• Ability to learn new software and follow procedures.
• Experience in quality assurance for high-volume document work.

Responsibilities

• Participate in on-the-job training for PDF accessibility and remediation procedures.
• Identify and correct accessibility issues in PDFs using specialized software.
• Remediate document structure: tags, headings, lists, reading order, tables, links, images.
• Perform automated checks and manual quality checks on remediated documents.
• Coordinate with webmaster to upload accessible documents and replace non-accessible ones.
• Maintain records of documents and remediation status; organize electronic files.
