Job summary

Fanatics is seeking an experienced Temporary Payroll Tax Amendment Specialist for a focused 60-day remote contract to resolve a backlog of payroll tax amendments, notices, and corrections stemming from the 2024 transition from UKG to Oracle HCM and ADP Tax Filing. This role demands independence and analytical rigor.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in payroll tax with amendment processing.
Experience in multi-state, multi-FEIN environments.
Proficient with federal 941-X filings and state amended returns.
Working knowledge of state withholding, SUI, SDI, PFML.
Oracle HCM review and ADP SmartCompliance use preferred.

Responsibilities

Analyze prior-period payroll tax discrepancies across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
Calculate correct tax liability and variances; coordinate amended returns.
Triage and resolve tax notices within response windows.
Coordinate W-2C preparation and ensure amounts match.
Document root causes and resolutions for institutional knowledge.
