Job summary

The Heritage Group is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support hourly and salary payroll cycles, leveraging Workday HCM and Excel to ensure accuracy and compliance. This remote role requires residence within 75 miles of Indianapolis, with occasional travel to our Indianapolis offices.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of direct payroll processing experience in a union environment and familiarity with payroll taxes, garnishments, and post-payroll activities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years direct payroll processing experience.
• Experience in a union work environment is required.
• Experience with Workday HCM is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Preferred experience using AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Payroll and payroll tax support, ensure accurate data entry and timely processing.
• Review payroll reports and documents for accuracy before processing.
• Handle garnishments and child support deductions.
• Process final pay checks and off-cycle payments as needed.
• Support audits with data gathering and reporting.
• Manage daily payroll inbox via Fresh Service system.
