Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting, LLC is seeking a Payroll Accountant for a remote, hybrid role supporting payroll operations and staff accounting. The position reports to the Controller and will manage biweekly payroll for a multi-state workforce, ensure compliance, and assist with general accounting tasks.

The candidate should have strong payroll knowledge, a solid accounting foundation, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of payroll and/or accounting experience.
• Experience supporting a remote or distributed workforce is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer biweekly payroll processing for employees in multiple states.
• Reconcile payroll registers and post payroll journal entries.
• Support month-end close, project accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations.
