• Oversee daily department operations to achieve quality results, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals.
• Supervise, orient, train, evaluate, and monitor on-job performance.
• Audit and maintain department metrics for unit and organizational goals.
• Promote quality improvement and systems-thinking; collaborate on policies and procedures to improve care and efficiency.
• Promote safety culture and responsiveness.
• Help develop departmental goals aligning with the organization’s strategic plan.
• Ensure compliance with policies and standard work; meet metrics and follow processes.
• Staff, train, and supervise staff; participate in annual evaluations.
• Monitor equipment use and ensure proper functioning; ensure supplies.
• Interact with nursing staff and visit units as needed.
• Assume staffing and scheduling responsibilities; optimize personnel use.
• Assist in standardizing remote video monitoring across inpatient units.
• Onboard and orient new staff; ensure role clarity and competencies.
• Conduct rounds to address issues throughout shifts.
• Adhere to university policies and safeguard assets.
