Job summary

AbsoluteCARE Medical Center & Pharmacy is seeking a Patient Account Manager to optimize revenue cycle activities across the organization, including front desk, billing, collections, and financial counseling. The role focuses on reducing bad debt, improving cash flow, and ensuring timely processing of payments with HIPAA compliance.

The position requires at least 5 years of FQHC billing experience and 3 years of healthcare management, with strong communication and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Health Care Administration or related field preferred.
• Five years’ FQHC Billing experience required.
• Three years’ management experience in a healthcare setting.
• eClinicalWorks experience preferred.
• Function with minimal direct supervision.
• Proficiency with Excel and other office programs to perform duties.
• Must have strong communication skills and ability to establish relationships.
• Knowledge of quality management processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of payer information entered into the patient billing system.
• Provide guidance to billers on effectively working claims and following up on claim denials.
• Monitor staff productivity and audit staff work.
• Document deficiencies to determine training opportunities.
• Report system setup errors to the Director.
• Problem solve and prioritize work for billing staff.
• Ensure timeliness of processing and correction of rejected claims.
• Keep billing staff updated on third party coverage contracts and terms.
• Establish and maintain regular follow up on claims.
• Maintain Billing Manual with current payer processes.
• Prepare reports for Director and FQHCs analyzing trends and recommendations.
• Provide billing concerns to Director prior to payer meetings.
• Assure accurate and timely payment posting.
• Provide monthly reports on credit balances.
• Sign off on employee time and conduct annual reviews with the Director.
• Adhere to HIPAA and privacy laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
