Qualifications

• Medical terminology and medical insurance knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows payor requirements for in/out-of-network plans and handles referrals and precertifications by phone or electronically.
• Performs verification of benefits for all patient encounters and audits chart accuracy.
• Demonstrates service excellence by assisting patients and customers with respect.
• Works with departments, physicians, and staff to obtain essential registration information (insurance, referrals, diagnoses).
• Ensures eligibility, authorizations, and registration forms are captured and scanned into EMR; handles follow-up as needed.
