Job summary

UC San Diego Health seeks a skilled medical coder to review outpatient CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes for accurate claims. Under general supervision, you will interpret handwritten and typed notes to assign correct CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes and resolve coding errors.

Required CPC or CCS certification with at least three years of coding experience in anatomy pathology and lab codes; strong CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS proficiency is essential. Remote work options may be available.

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).
• Must have three (3) years of coding experience (coding of anatomical pathology and lab CPT and DX codes).
• Strong skills in CPT, ICD-10, & HCPCS coding applications.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision performs in depth complex daily CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 review of outpatient codes and charges to resolve coding errors and claim edits.
