Job summary

The role requires AHIMA or AAPC credentials, 2+ years in outpatient coding, strong Excel and EMR familiarity, and careful attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Professional coder certification with AHIMA and/or AAPC; must be maintained annually.
• 2+ years of experience with ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers.
• 2+ years of experience in acute outpatient coding.
• Intermediate Windows/Excel experience; familiarity with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and modifiers for facility outpatient services.
• Adhere to official coding guidelines and client policies.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity as per QM/Director guidance.
• Understand APC codes and related policies.
• Query physicians when appropriate; stay current with coding knowledge.
