Job summary

Fairygodboss is seeking a part-time design team member for our San Diego-based utility telecom and networking team. This role will directly contribute to our design efforts, providing immediate impacts in developing communications cabling infrastructure and supporting teleworking.

The ideal candidate must hold current RCDD accreditation and have at least 10 years of experience in communications cabling design. Additional qualifications include a strong background in fiber communications infrastructure and a commitment to non-discrimination.

Qualifications

• Current RCDD accreditation with BICSI and a minimum of 10 years experience as an RCDD developing communications cabling design for buildings and campuses.
• Must be a US citizen and be able to pass a DOE security background check.
• Engineering degree desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Participate as a member of our design team for a new utility control center.
• Develop changes to and maintain inside and outside plant communications cabling infrastructure design drawings in Visio, Bluebeam or AutoCAD.
• Develop test and migration approaches for new cabling systems.
