RCDD Telecom Design Engineer

Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior telecommunications cabling design engineer to lead inside and outside plant fiber and copper systems for utility customers. You will draft, review, and present detailed design drawings, specifications, and BOMs for complex campus and building projects.

The role requires a decade of RCDD experience, hands-on design in Visio/AutoCAD/Bluebeam, and the ability to pass a DOE background check.

Qualifications

• Current RCDD accreditation with BICSI.
• Minimum of 10 years experience as an RCDD developing communications cabling design for buildings and campuses.
• Engineering degree desired but not required.
• Must be a US citizen and be able to pass a DOE security background check.
• Experience with designing inside plant and outside plant fiber communications infrastructure using Corning, Commscope or BEJED equipment.
• Experience in designing cable infrastructure for utility customers.
• Experience in developing design drawings for fiber interconnections including block diagrams, butterfly diagrams, patch panel diagrams, etc.
