Job summary

National Fire Experts in Shreveport, LA is seeking a Part-Time Fire Investigator to join our team. The role involves studying fire and explosion scenes, performing investigations, and delivering clear written reports.

Occasional travel within a 100-mile radius is required, with potential overnight trips. Strong candidates will have CFEI/CFI credentials, a PI license, NFPA experience, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must have CFEI certification through NAFI, or CFI certification through IAAI (preferred).
• Must hold or obtain Private Investigator License in assigned states within 60 days of employment.
• Must be familiar with NFPA 921.
• Must meet NFPA 1033 qualifications.
• Previous expert testimony or deposition experience preferred.
• Degree or some college coursework preferred.
• Must have at least 2 years hands-on fire origin and cause investigations experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct timely field visits to loss sites to perform cause and origin investigations.
• Provide honest and unbiased analysis and consultation on fires/explosions.
• Carry out field studies and research daily.
• Travel within ~100 miles of assigned office; overnight travel as needed.
• Interact with clients and handle confidential information.
• Write and submit detailed investigation reports in a timely manner per guidelines.
• Communicate project updates to National Fire Experts' customers.
• Be willing to provide expert testimony/depositions as needed.
• Maintain flexible schedule during peak demand and work remotely from home office.
