Job summary

Wild Virginia is seeking a Communications Contractor to implement its marketing strategy from Oct 1 to Dec 31, 2026, at about 10–15 hours per week with potential extension. Remote role; Virginia preferred but not required; reports to the Executive Director and collaborates organization-wide.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in communications and/or marketing.
• Experience in graphic design and website updates.
• Experience managing social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
• Strong storytelling skills.
• Positive team player with strong work ethic and reliability.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects.

Responsibilities

• Build the organization’s influence, brand awareness, and reach.
• Track engagement metrics across social, emails, and website.
• Increase engagement with guidance from the Executive Director and Operations Coordinator.
• Attend bi-weekly staff meetings and monthly Communications Team Meetings.
• Digital communications and website management on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
• Update website and improve usability and traffic.
• Graphic design of appeals, reports, logos, brochures, and other materials.
• Prepare monthly blog or press release content and media advisories as needed.
