Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and 5+ years of college counseling experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the college application process, admissions requirements, financial aid and scholarships.
• Strong communication, presentation and meeting facilitation skills; excellent writing ability.
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple students and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individualized strategy sessions with students starting in 9th grade to create tailored admissions plans.
• Maintain ongoing communication with students and parents to align goals and track progress.
• Research and build balanced college lists (reach/target/likely) aligned with interests and budget.
• Assist with brainstorming and refining personal statements and supplemental essays.
• Manage application timelines and ensure accurate, standout submissions.
• Provide guidance on course selection, tests and extracurricular activities to strengthen applications.
• Review resumes to highlight strengths and accomplishments.
• Prepare students for interviews with mock sessions and feedback.
• Stay current on admissions trends and requirements to offer relevant advice.
