24-MAG LLC seeks experienced CAD specialists for a part‑time, fully remote engagement. You will interpret engineering drawings, reproduce precise 3D models from schematics, and automate geometry creation in Python. The role emphasizes CAD and computational geometry rather than hardware tasks.

Your work will involve building solid models, validating geometry, and exporting STEP files for downstream engineering use. Flexible scheduling is offered, with ~15 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Strong Python programming ability.
• Hands‑on experience with 3D CAD, computational geometry, or mechanical modelling.
• Ability to interpret dimensioned drawings and schematics.
• Strong 3D spatial reasoning and attention to geometric precision.
• Experience validating, debugging, or troubleshooting CAD models.
• Familiarity with CAD tools such as FreeCAD, OpenCascade, Fusion 360, Onshape, SolidWorks, or comparable platforms.

Responsibilities

• Interpret dimensions, constraints, and geometric relationships from drawings.
• Translate 2D schematics into accurate 3D mechanical models.
• Decompose components into geometric features and model curves, lofts, sweeps, fillets, chamfers, and booleans.
• Use Python to generate, automate, or manipulate CAD geometry and workflows.
• Export valid STEP models and validate topology, volume, surface area, and inertia.
