Job summary

Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Assistant to provide temporary support to an accounting team through the end of the year. This remote, flexible role offers roughly 10 hours per week and pays $30-$40 per hour with an ASAP start.

No prior accounting experience is required; candidates with bookkeeping or administrative experience are welcome, and the position supports learning and growth in a hands-on accounting environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred (or currently pursuing).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Comfortable learning new systems and software.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• QuickBooks experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review, code, and enter invoices into QuickBooks and Planergy
• Verify and enter receipts within Planergy
• Locate, match, code, and enter credit card receipts into QuickBooks
• Assist with employee benefit reconciliations and month-end accounting processes
• Support the closure of payroll tax agency accounts in multiple states
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Perform data entry and provide general accounting support as needed
