Job summary

SEI is seeking an academic reference librarian for a very part-time, remote role that delivers and promotes virtual reference services to support student learning outcomes. You will assist learners, faculty and staff by guiding research, using library databases, and providing support via phone, email and chat, while maintaining customer-focused service.

Evening and weekend hours are required; compensation starts at $24.00 per hour with a range $22.25–$33.75, and SEI offers a comprehensive

Qualifications

• MLIS or MLS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Experience supporting adult learners in an academic library.
• Ability to work remotely and handle multiple tasks with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and research services for learners, faculty, and staff.
• Assist users using library resources via phone, email, and chat.
• Promote learner- and customer-focused library services.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate as needed.
• Update and maintain library guides and training materials.
• Attend regular 1:1 meetings and participate in team training.
