Job summary

LAC Federal is seeking a Reference Librarian to provide high-quality reference, research assistance, and instructional support to students, faculty, staff, and community patrons. The role includes guiding users in navigating the catalog, databases, and print and non-print collections, both in-person and online.

Responsibilities include delivering reference services, conducting consultations, and leading information literacy sessions.

Qualifications

Minimum of one year of recent experience providing reference services in a library setting.
Proficiency with electronic information systems, research databases, and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with academic library reference and instructional technologies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse populations.

Responsibilities

Deliver reference and research services to library users in-person and virtually.
Assist patrons with library technologies, databases, and research tools.
Provide individualized research consultations for students.
Conduct instructional sessions to promote information literacy and research skills.
Maintain knowledge of print and digital collections to meet user needs.
Capture and report library usage statistics as directed.
Collaborate with staff on projects and update library guides and instructional resources.
Support circulation functions as needed.
Stay current with trends in academic library reference services.
