Strategic Education, Inc. is seeking a part-time Librarian, Reference Associate to deliver virtual reference services and support student learning outcomes from a remote location in the United States.

The role requires non-negotiable weekend and evening hours and interaction with learners, faculty and staff via phone, email, chat, and other channels. Candidates should hold an MLIS/MLS from an ALA-accredited program and demonstrate strong customer service, research, and instructional skills.

Qualifications

• Master of Library Science (MLIS) or Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution is required.
• Experience delivering reference services to adult learners and diverse populations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with library databases and online resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and research services for learners, faculty and staff via phone, email, chat, and other channels.
• Assess queries to determine information needs and direct users to relevant resources.
• Promote learner- and customer-focused library services and instruction.
• Troubleshoot library-related technical issues and escalate when needed.
• Update and maintain library instruction resources and training materials.
