Job summary

SEI is seeking a part-time Librarian, Reference Associate to deliver virtual reference services to students, faculty and staff from a remote location in the USA. The role reports to the Supervisor – Reference Services and requires weekend and evening hours as outlined.

You will assist users with library resources and databases, develop instructional materials, and collaborate with library staff. A MLIS or MLS from an ALA-accredited program and 1–3 years of academic librarianship are preferred.

Qualifications

• MLIS or MLS from an ALA-accredited program is required.
• 1–3 years of academic reference librarian experience preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and research services to learners, faculty and staff via phone, email, chat.
• Assess queries to determine information needs and outcomes.
• Promote learner- and customer-focused library services.
• Troubleshoot library access problems and escalate when needed.
• Maintain library instruction resources and training materials.
