Job summary

LAC Federal is seeking a Reference Librarian to provide high-quality reference, research assistance, and instructional support to students, faculty, staff, and community patrons through online platforms and at the library service desk.

The position is temporary and part-time (20 hours per week) from August 31, 2026 to October 2, 2026, with evening hours during the fall semester and occasional remote work when the building is closed.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering reference services in libraries is preferred.
• Familiarity with research databases and library technologies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver reference and research services to library users in-person and virtually.
• Assist patrons with databases, catalogs, and research tools.
• Provide instructional sessions to students and other library users to promote information literacy.
• Maintain knowledge of library collections and resources to support user needs.
• Capture and report library usage statistics as directed.
