Job summary

Arcadis seeks a computational designer to join our data-driven Computational Design team. You will develop advanced computational workflows for architecture, urban design, planning, and engineering across local and international projects, with location flexibility to work from any US office or remotely.

This role requires strong Rhino/Grasshopper skills, Python proficiency, and a portfolio of parametric modeling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, landscape, urban design, computational design, CS, or related fields (Master's preferred).
• Strong Rhino and Grasshopper skills with complex parametric models.
• Proficiency in Python; use to extend Grasshopper capabilities.
• 3+ years urban design, planning, landscape, or architectural firm experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating parametric modeling.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication.
• Willingness to learn in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Build computational models for various projects.
• Build, maintain and improve computational workflows and products across the firm.
• Work interoperably between platforms and formats including 3D modeling software, GIS, BIM, and software development environments.
• Work with a range of project-related data sources and formats including environmental, economic, planning and demographic data.
• Collaborate with internal and external clients to understand needs and develop strategies.
• Stay abreast of new and emerging technologies, best practices, and software applications.
• Build technical expertise across the firm and provide continuing education.
• Communicate technical ideas in a verbal and graphic accessible manner.
• Create presentation and report materials to support projects.
