Job summary
Zurich North America is hiring a Paralegal I to support moderate to complex liability litigation. The role involves drafting pleadings, conducting research, and supporting two attorneys under attorney supervision.
The position is remote for a strong candidate with California Workers’ Compensation experience; CA onsite one day per week at Gold River office when applicable. Strong MS Office and document handling are essential.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with relevant legal support experience.
- Experience drafting legal documents and pleadings.
- Experience with electronic research databases and MS Office.
- California paralegal requirements may apply for CA candidates.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support to two attorneys.
- Draft pleadings and other documents as directed.
- Conduct legal and documentary research.
- Monitor case schedules and filing deadlines.
- Summarize depositions and review discovery responses.
- Prepare discovery requests and responses.
- Subpoena records from non-parties.
- Assist in trial preparation and organize case files.
- Communicate with clients, counsel, and witnesses.
- Track billable hours and maintain electronic files.
