Job summary

BayCare Health System seeks a Medical Records Outpatient Coder III to join our remote team. This full-time role, based in Florida, will code ED, ambulatory, and observation encounters using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4, collaborate with departments to resolve documentation gaps, and mentor junior coders and clinical students.

The position requires CCS certification, 5 years outpatient facility coding experience, and CPT coding proficiency.

Qualifications

• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) required
• 5 years of Outpatient Facility Coding experience
• Strong CPT coding experience in ED/ambulatory/observations

Responsibilities

• Review short stay focused encounters and assign ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes
• Coordinate with departments to obtain missing documentation
• Mentor/train Coder I/II and students
• Performs other duties as assigned
