Job summary

Jobgether SRL seeks a Medical Coder (Outpatient) for a fully remote role supporting VA medical centers across GA, AL, and SC. You will code high volumes of outpatient encounters, assign E/M levels, apply NCCI edits, and ensure accurate, compliant coding.

You will work with ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, HCPCS II, CPRS, and VistA PCE within VA systems, maintaining strict confidentiality. Initial term is 12 months with potential extensions.

Qualifications

• Active credential required (CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, or CPC-H).
• Minimum 2 years of recent outpatient coding experience including E/M and procedures.
• Completion of an accredited coding/health information program.
• Formal training in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient encounters across clinic visits, ancillary services, radiology, labs, and outpatient surgery.
• Apply E/M levels per current guidelines and coding clinics.
• Use NCCI edits and appropriate modifiers (25, 59, 91) when supported by documentation.
• Review codes for components of larger procedures and ensure billable encounters.
• Enter coding data into VistA PCE using the approved encoder.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy while meeting turnaround requirements.
• Protect patient information and comply with confidentiality and federal rules.
