Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in health information management, medical coding, or a related field.
• Active approved coding credential from AAPC or AHIMA upon hire.
• Successful completion of Outpatient Coding Specialist I diagnosis and CPT coding pre-employment assessment upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical records to assign accurate codes for physician services.
• Ensures compliance with all coding guidelines, regulations, and hospital policies.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, payer requirements, and regulatory changes.
• Prepares and submits accurate and timely coding reports to the billing department.
• Audits coded data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
